Description

100 Things to See in Tropical North Queensland and 100 Things To See In The Kimberley are guides to the best of the far north and Great Barrier Reef, and Australia’s wild north-west, according to people who live there. These remarkable parts of Australia are home to the oldest rainforest on earth, the world’s largest living organism and four world heritage sites, and that’s just the beginning.

In one guide, author and travel journalist Catherine Lawson, along with partner and photographer, David Bristow, take anyone wanting to explore TNQ like a local into the places off the regular tourist trails. Both have spent more than 20 years travelling their backyard by foot, 4WD, train, bike and even in their sailing yacht, Storyteller. In the other, local tour guide Scotty Connell takes readers through the best parts of his backyard and away from the tourist traps.

Inside, you’ll find 100 of the best places and things to see and do at the top of Queensland and the Kimberley – from dream-like swimming holes to undisturbed rock-art galleries and outback adventures you’ll never forget

Both these guidebooks offer fantastic insights and great travel advice for those of us who want to visit the Kimberley and Tropical North Queensland in the near future. Let’s face it, our own backyard is a world-class destination and there has never been a better time to get out there and explore it. We are all so lucky to have such amazing and accessible adventure playgrounds in our country and I would like to thank Scotty, Catherine and David along with the crew at Explore Eden for writing and publishing these guides.
