We’re online shoppers too, so when you order from us, we’ll try and do all the things we love when we buy from others.
Single-use-plastic-free: We’re only a small business with the tiniest of impacts, but we’re also incredibly conscious of the effect modern life and consumerism is having on the environment, and therefore the incredible places and things we write about and travel to. As part of our journey to become an entirely environmentally responsible business, we ship all our orders single-use-plastic-free.
Smaller orders are wrapped in FSC-certified kraft paper and posted in recyclable paper envelopes. When we use sticky tape, it is biodegradable, cellulose tape. Larger orders ship in compostable satchels with paper mailing labels. It’s protected in transit by FSC-certified honeycomb paper, a bubble-wrap alternative. We’ve linked to each of the products, so we’re transparent, and in the hope that you, reading this, might know of something better, and let us know. Or that other businesses reading this might find it easier than we did to find plastic-free packaging.
It costs us more to do this (plastic is, after all, very cheap), but we don’t believe you, our customer, should have to pay more for our commitment to sustainability, so we have absorbed the costs ourselves.
Same Day Shipping: If you put in an order before 2pm, Sydney time, we’ll post your order that day. We ship most orders using Australia Post. Their shipping is economical, fast and carbon neutral. Standard shipping is normally between $5 and $10 per order.
Fire to Fork: Currently Fire to Fork is on pre-order. If you ordered it with other products, we’ll send those as per the conditions on this page. Your copy or copies of Fire to Fork will ship as soon as it’s in stock – most likely in late July, unless it’s earlier. Got any questions – just use the contact form here.
Plenty of updates: Once you’ve placed your order, we’ll let you know that it’s been received. Then, as soon as it’s been posted, we’ll send you another update. If you’ve chosen a postage method that includes tracking, we’ll make sure you know where your books are every step of the way.
Live in the bush? If you’re ordering from a very regional or remote area and want your order faster, consider upgrading to the Express Post service. We’ve purposely kept the prices as low as possible on this service to help those of you who don’t live near that capital cities, where post is faster. Alternatively, our books are available in most good bookshops, so consider supporting one of your local businesses. Use the contact form if you want to find a stockists close to you.
Live overseas? We ship overseas all the time, to just about every country in the world. But, the challenges of COVID-19 are putting some pressures on that, so get in touch if want more information about how we ship to your location.
Damaged or lost? We hate it when our stuff turns up damaged or doesn’t turn up at all. So if that happens to you, just send us an email and we’ll post out replacements. Feel free to keep the damaged ones or give them to a friend. Or use them to prop up the corner of your couch.
